Celebrations commence for Harry Potter anniversary

Celebrating 20 years of Harry Potter

Harry Potter fans are invited to magic themselves back to the beginning of the boy wizard’s adventures this month.

Durham County Council libraries are joining libraries across the country in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by making the story available on loan as an eBook.

The eBook will be available from Monday, 26 June to Sunday, 9 July.

Library users can also join in the anniversary celebrations on social media by using #HarryPotter20.

Members of the council’s library service can borrow a wide range of eBooks, which are available to download free of charge to a PC or mobile device. All that is needed is a library card and an internet connection.
