Businesses asked to support Dene Community School’s STEM activities

Businesses across the East Durham area are being asked to get involved in a three-day programme of STEM-related activities at Dene Community School in Peterlee.

Each year, the school invites a range of companies with STEM roots to come in and engage with the students in hosting a challenging activity, which gives an insight into the world of STEM after secondary school.

Last year, representatives from a wide variety of organisations such as Rolls Royce, Centre for Life and the Armed Services helped to make the event the school’s most successful event yet.

Students from years seven to nine came off timetable to carousel around a selection of these activities, feeding back that they thoroughly enjoyed the range of activities, challenges and insights into the future prospects made accessible through STEM.

This year STEM week at Dene is scheduled to take place over three days from Monday, June 25, to Wednesday, June 27.
