Families in County Durham will be treated to a new live theatre show from the creators of The Gruffalo this autumn.
Children will be delighted to see Tabby McTat, based on the book by bestselling author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Sheffler, brought to life at Durham’s Gala Theatre on Wednesday 17 October.
Presented by Freckle Productions, Tabby McTat tells the heart-warming story of a busker and his cat. The two best friends spend their days delighting crowds with their favourite songs, but when the two become separated, will they ever find each other again?
Robin Byers, manager at the Durham County Council venue, said: “We’re really looking forward to this new production. Gala has hosted stage adaptations of some of Julia Donaldson’s other stories in the past, including ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ and ‘Tiddler: The Story-Telling Fish’, and families always tell us how much they enjoyed them. Tabby McTat is a lovely tale, all about friendship and loyalty, and it’s interwoven with some brilliant original songs. It’s fantastic fun and a great way to introduce children to the magic of theatre.”
Tickets cost £12 and groups of ten or more can enjoy a special discounted rate of £10 each. For more information, or to book, visit www.galadurham.co.uk or contact the box office on 03000 266 600.
