Dream over as Molly Scott out of X Factor after losing sing off

Easington singing sensation Molly Scott has been voted off the X Factor.

The 16-year-old found herself in the bottom three after performing Britney Spears’ Toxic on Saturday night’s Halloween Fright Night special.

With boy band United Vibe eliminated immediately, having received the fewest public votes, Molly faced a sing off with Acacia and Aaliyah.

And despite a fantastic effort covering Christina Perri’s Human, judges Ayda Williams, Nile Rogers, filling in for Robbie Williams, and Louis Tomlinson opted to send her home and save Acacia and Aaliyah.

Molly’s friends and family were quick to praise her progress in the competition, with mentor Simon Cowell believing she is destined for big things in the music industry.

One friend posting on Facebook said: “Obviously I am heartbroken for her. We could pass the blame on to her lack of mentoring but it’s because of her mentor she was lucky to be there in the first place so we are super grateful.”

Saturday’s show was plagued with technical problems, meaning voting lines weren’t opened until last night’s show after all 12 performances had been replayed.
